In-house Design Facilities

We are able to assist the customer in designing, or assisting in the design of the applicable rubber product ensuring it meets/ exceeds the envisaged performance specification and is designed to be cost efficiently manufactured.

In-house mixing facilities

We are able to develop rubber compound to meet the performance requirements of the rubber product. Batch to batch consistency is paramount in our business and we therefore prefer to complete this task in-house. In-house mixing also allows us to be more cost efficient.

Moulding Processes

We have various moulding processes we can employ to manufacture the rubber component. Once we have reviewed customer requirement, we determine the best method to manufacture the product. Moulding equipment on hand allows us to employ either rubber compression moulding, rubber injection moulding or rubber transfer moulding.

Rubber Compression Moulding Process

Rubber Compression Moulding involves placing the rubber blank (pre-shaped and weighed) into an open mould. Rubber blanks are placed in the mould cavities after which the tool is closed. This moulding process may be utilised for single cavity/ low volume applications, proto-type tooling, multi-cavity moulds where the high value of a raw material inhibits the use of injection moulding and composite products e.g. metal bonded to rubber or fabric reinforced rubber product.

At that time local rubber product manufactures were, and the majority still are, only producing general purpose rubber product. The only alternative for a customer seeking a specialised moulded rubber product at the time was to import it at greatly inflated prices coupled with poor delivery times. The production of specialised moulded rubber product is still a niche market in South Africa and as such has allowed our company to grow from strength to strength.
